April 21, 2016

On April 29, 2016 Enterprise Technology Services will install a software update, service pack 7.0.10, to improve the functionality of the campus electronic timekeeping system.  As a Payroll Manager or Timekeeper, here is what you need to know about the installation and the new service pack:

What to Expect on April 29, 2016

  • Electronic Timekeeping application will be offline during the service pack upgrade on Friday, April 29.
  • Time clock users will still be able to swipe during the upgrade without interruption. Time clocks will transmit punches to employee timecards once the application is available again.
  • Electronic Timekeeping users who typically timestamp at their computers should notify their supervisors of their in and out times or hours worked using their department’s approved manual procedure. The supervisor can then input the employee’s time when the system is back online.
  • We anticipate the installation will be completed during the day on Friday, April 29, and the Electronic Timekeeping application will be online by 3pm. If there is a delay, timekeepers will be notified by ETS.

What’s New in Service Pack 7.0.10

Windows 10 is now a supported operating system. There are also several fixes that will be implemented with this service pack:

  • An issue in the previous service pack required removal of the taking increment restrictions in the application.  This was announced on June 1, 2015.  Due to the removal of the restrictions, the application was not enforcing policy around quarter-hour increments and full-day increments.  This software update fixes the issue.
  • In IE, the scroll bar is now available for navigating through long lists of employees.
  • Exempt managers no longer see “Hours Worked” as an available pay code when navigating to their personal timecard.
  • For managers using the non-java profile and IE, reports will now display.
