New Connect Calendar Training Sessions Added

In response to demand for Connect (Google) Calendar training, we have added additional training sessions:

  • Connect (Google) Calendar General Training – Friday, August 28 from 10 – 11am, SSMS1303
  • Connect (Google) Calendar General Training – Friday, September 25 from 1 – 2pm, SSMS1303
  • Connect (Google) Calendar Power User Training – Friday, September 25 from 10 – 11am, SSMS1303

General training classes are for anyone who manages their own calendar and schedules periodic group meetings. Power user training classes are for anyone who manages the calendars of other people, groups, and resources. Power users are encouraged to attend a general training class prior to attending the power user training.

If you have not already registered for training, please register for one of these sessions through the UC Learning Center: https://www.learningcenter.ucsb.edu/employee-only-log. Registration instructions are listed below. All current Oracle Calendar/CorporateTime users are strongly encouraged to attend training on Connect (Google) Calendar.

Instructions for the Migration to Connect (Google) Calendar

As has been previously announced, all UCSB Oracle Calendar/CorporateTime users are being migrated to the more stable Connect (Google) Calendar. The migration is expected to begin on Thursday, September 10 and be completed by Monday, September 14. Please note the following dates:

  • Wednesday, September 9: As a pre-caution, all Oracle Calendar/CorporateTime customers should print out their schedule for two weeks; from Monday, 9/7 to Friday, 9/18.
  • Thursday, September 10: Oracle Calendar/CorporateTime will be inaccessible beginning at 5pm.
  • Monday, September 14: By 8am, everyone who previously had an Oracle Calendar/ CorporateTime account should be able to log into the new Connect (Google) Calendar service.

How To Register for Training

1. Access the UCSB Learning Center using the following URL: https://www.learningcenter.ucsb.edu/employee-only-log. Be sure pop-ups are ENABLED on your browser.

2. Log in using your UCSBNetID and password.

3. Once logged in, find the search field at the top left of the screen.

4. Enter Connect (Google) in the search field and click the magnifying class icon to execute the search.

5. The search will list all the available Connect (Google) Calendar training classes. Select the class type, date and time that meet your needs and click the REGISTER icon at the right side of the screen.

6. The Class icon and description will be displayed in a new window. Click the SUBMIT icon to register.

7. The registration confirmation window will be displayed. Click DONE.

8. You will receive an email from hrtrain@ucsb.edu confirming the date, time and place of the class for which you have registered.

This stabilization is a collaborative effort between Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) and Letters & Science IT (LSIT). ETS, LSIT and Administrative & Residential IT developed these sessions in a joint effort.
