Systems Engineer

Under general direction, performs in a system engineer role. Primary focus will be on Enterprise financial systems. Conducts technical design and documentation, code implementation, and production release. Provides ongoing support and service to Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) clients in the use of their systems and during emergencies. 
This position will work specifically for the UC Santa Barbara campus but can be housed at either the UC Santa Barbara or the UC Riverside campus.  
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in the field of computer science or similar technical area. 
  • Requires development experience with Eclipse. 
  • Requires web server experience such as WebSphere and Tomcat. 
  • Excellent facilitation, discovery, analysis, and prototyping skills.
  • Fast learner and self-starter with an entrepreneurial work ethic. 
  • Self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail. 
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. 
  • The successful candidate must be able to define, interpret and develop complex operational and system interfaces for large enterprise wide applications with support from domain engineers and/or government staff.  


Desirable Requirements
-Knowledge of .NET framework 1.0, C, and WCF. 
- Complete on IBM MVS mainframe 
- CAS 
- Hyperion 
- Peoplesoft financial suites ? AP and GL modules 
- Cashnet 
- ProSAM: Financial Aid system 
- Gateway: the authentication system 
- Masters degree in the field of computer science or similar technical area is preferred.
